Florida is cracking down on illegal immigration, and Trump is fully behind it.
The Daily Mail reports:
“President Trump on Sunday praised Florida‘s Republican governor signing into a law a bill that cracks down on ‘sanctuary cities’ for undocumented immigrants and requires the state’s law enforcement agencies to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.”
No longer will Florida be a safe haven for illegal immigration. Trump isn’t working alone in his efforts to crack down on the border crisis.
“DeSantis this year asked legislators for the bill “to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no city or county jurisdiction can get in the way of Florida’s cooperation with our federal partners to enforce immigration law,” his spokesperson, Helen Aguirre Ferré, said after POLITICO first published news of the bill signing. “Public safety is paramount and local law enforcement agencies can and should work with the federal government to ensure that accountability and justice are one in our state.”
This is a significant victory for Trump.
It’s also a victory for public safety in Florida cities. Sanctuary cities are notable for their high rates of preventable crime at the hands of illegal aliens. Those living in Florida can rest a little easier.
