After special counsel Robert Mueller’s nearly two year probe into the Trump campaign finally came to a close Friday, the President spent the weekend teeing off with Kid Rock at his Florida resort.
“What a great man, so down to earth and so fun to be with!! KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!” Kid Rock wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of the pair enjoying themselves in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Rather than join the fray of Washington politicians and pundits speculating over the contents of Mueller’s confidential report, Trump maintained uncharacteristic silence, even refraining from his usual off-the-cuff tweets.
Meanwhile, Democrats fumed as news spread that the report might not contain the smoking gun they were hoping for, and that the full report might not be made public.
Then on Sunday, after Attorney General William Barr confirmed that Mueller found no evidence of illegal collusion with the Russians, Trump broke his silence.
“No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION KEEP AMERICA GREAT,” Trump tweeted, later telling reporters the probe was an “illegal takedown that failed.”
