Donald Trump has just made a pretty big announcement: he’s backing current District 6 Florida Representative Michael Waltz, a republican, for reelection in 2022.
Trump said that “Congressman Mike Waltz is a relentless fighter for the incredible people of Florida. As a former U.S. Army Green Beret, Mike is working hard in Congress to hold Joe Biden accountable for his colossal failure and deadly disaster in Afghanistan.”
Not willing to let Biden off the hook after just one jab, Trump went on to criticize Joe Biden for being “an incompetent leader.”

It’s no surprise that Trump would choose to back Waltz, as Waltz supported a lawsuit questioning the 2020 election results in Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Waltz’s primary opponents thus far are Libertarian Joseph Hannoush and Democrat Richard Thripp.
