After Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) said that Democrats were considering having officials in President Donald Trump’s administration arrested for refusing to cooperate with an impeachment probe, Trump called Tlaib a “despicable human being” in a tweet.
Trump also retweeted material by White House social media director Dan Scavino, who called the Democrat impeachment attempt a “coup.”
On Friday, Trump sent a letter to House Democrats saying he wouldn’t cooperate with any impeachment efforts, since they had no subpoena power without taking a formal vote of the entire house about impeachment, which they have not done.
In a speech later on Friday, however, Trump told reporters he would cooperate if “they give us our rights.”
If Democrats “say you can’t have lawyers, you can’t ask questions, you can’t have anybody present, all of these crazy things,” however, Trump says, then he and his administration will not cooperate.
