Former Congressman Trey Gowdy is back. He just made the call, and the Washington establishment is on high alert.
Appearing on Fox News, Gowdy said that embattled former FBI Director James Comey has “no one to blame but himself” for the trouble he’s caused.
Specifically, Gowdy was responding to the news that Comey might be concerned about what Attorney General William Barr discovers as he investigates the origins of the Trump-Russia ‘collusion’ probe.
Barr recently appointed a prosecutor, U.S. Attorney John Durham, to look into how Comey and the FBI conducted their anti-Trump investigation. Comey should be worried.
Gowdy said that “there are lots of good men and women at the FBI. Most of them would never target a political campaign and hope that it lost 100 million to nothing.”
He continued: “Most FBI agents would never belittle political supporters of someone else … They would never promise to stop a political candidate. Unfortunately, the ones he [Comey] picked did all of that.”
