In typical dishonest fashion, media outlets have misreported the content of the transcript of a phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky in order to make Trump’s actions appear more egregious.
During the call, Trump asks Zelensky for a “favor,” but various media including Fox News, CNN and MSNBC reported that the favor Trump asked for was an investigation into Joe Biden’s pressuring of Ukraine to fire a prosecutor investigating his son’s company in 2016.
What Trump actually asked Zelensky to do after saying he wanted a favor was to look into the origins of the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, referenced by the term “Crowdstrike.”
“I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike … I guess you have one of your wealthy people … The server, they say Ukraine has it,” the transcript read.
I guess we shouldn’t be suprised that so-called journalists in the media skipped right over that part of the conversation to quote the part about Biden.
