Democrats never cease to amaze with their hypocrisy, and this time is no different. A top Democrat just told a Hispanic man to “go back where you came from,” and it was all caught by an eye-witness to the incident.
Georgia Democrat State Rep. Erica Thomas claimed on Twitter that she “was verbally assaulted in the grocery store by a white man who told me I was a lazy SOB and to go back to where I came from,” but this doesn’t appear to be the case.
The man she’s accusing, Eric Sparkes, is Cuban-American and an employee of Publix, and one of his fellow co-workers is standing up for him. The woman said she heard Rep. Thomas “continuously tell Eric Sparkes to ‘Go back where you came from!'”
The woman also noted that she did not hear the same words from Sparkes, yet this is exactly what the Democratic lawmaker is claiming. Additionally, Sparkes gave an interview to the media himself to further clear his name.
“This woman is playing the victim for political purposes because she is a state legislator. I’m a Democrat and will vote Democrat for the rest of my life, so call me whatever you want to believe,” said Sparkes.
“For her political purposes, make it black, white, brown, whatever. It is untrue,” he continued. Thomas has since admitted, “I don’t want to say he said ‘go back to your country’ or ‘go back to where you came from,’ but he was making those types of references.”
