Facebook is retiring from the podcast game.
Mediaite.com reports that Facebook will officially be closing the doors to its audio hub.
Podcasts were incoperated into Facebook after an announcement last April that allowed aggregated podcast feeds from other platforms to appear on Facebook.
However, Facebook, and parent company Meta, are unsure that this is an efficient way to target users as they look at how people divide their time each day.
A spokesperson from Meta said that “We’re constantly evaluating the features we offer so we can focus on the most meaningful experiences.”
The change will happen on June 3, 2022.
