The Senate Judiciary sent a letter to the Justice Department in July 2017 claiming that Ukraine had tried to help Hillary Clinton win in 2016 and had interfered in the election in much the way Democrats have tried and failed to claim Trump did with Russia.
The letter claimed that a Democrat National committee consultant participated in multiple meetings with Ukraine officials and tried to “coordinate the dissemination of incriminating information about Trump campaign officials,” according to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
The actions of the consultant should have been registered under FARA, but they were not, Grassley said.
In addition, it has also become known that Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Richard J. Durbin (D-IL) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT) wrote a letter to Yuriy Lutsenko, Ukraine’s prosecutor general, to express concern about that nation closing four investigations they felt were critical to the Mueller probe.
These actions put into context what Trump is alleged to have done and calls the motives of Democrats into question–as well as their blatant hypocrisy.
