The U.S. Supreme Court has handed President Trump a major win for his policy protecting the effectiveness of our nation’s military and keeping it free of left-wing social experiments.
In their decision, the Supreme Court allowed Trump’s prohibition on transgender individuals serving in the military to go forward, and the policy is now set to take affect. Far from being unreasonable, an exception is made for those willing to serve in the capacity of their biological sex. Openly transgender people currently serving are also grandfathered in.
The high court’s ruling halted a district court ruling that kept Trump’s policy from being implement, but did not rule on the policy itself. This means litigation will continue in lower courts. With a majority out the Supreme Court seemingly on Trump’s side, however, the policy may be in place for a good while.
As expected, the decision fell along an ideological split, with Trump’s two Supreme Court picks, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, ruling in the president’s favor along with the court’s other right-leaning members.
