Rep. Susan Collins shocked everyone when she said she doesn’t regret her vote to confirm Justice Kavanaugh.
The representative from Maine was expected to possibly flip her position on Kavanaugh in order to achieve re-election.
Instead of apologizing for voting her conscience, she said “I do not regret my vote in the least.”
Maine is a fairly blue state, and many Democrats opposed Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court.
Collins called herself “an important voice for the nation in an increasingly polarized environment.”
It’s refreshing to see members of Congress vote for the country’s best interest, not their own political survival. Time will tell if her constituents feel the same.
