A huge Supreme Court bombshell just dropped. President Trump has been notified, and he’s weighing his options. There’s a major decision ahead for him.
Recently, the court decided to halt Trump’s plan to place a citizenship question on the census until further reasoning could be provided — and now Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) has said Trump should move forward anyway.
Roy tweeted, “Absolutely. It’s the lawyers advising him. @realDonaldTrump should ignore them. Completely. Print the census with the question – and issue a statement explaining why – ‘because we should.’ Done.”
He was responding to a tweet from columnist Dan McLaughlin, who called the situation a “Completely unforced error” and said the “Court confirmed Trump could do this, if the Administration handled it competently.”
And it appears that Trump may be taking Roy’s suggestion. “We are absolutely moving forward, as we must, because of the importance of the answer to this question,” tweeted Trump.
Trump had backed off, thinking the fight was officially over, but has since chosen to keep pushing. As noted, the administration — namely the lawyers — dropped the ball. It’s not Trump’s fault. Now he’s working to fix the problem.
