The White House has declined to deny that President Joe Biden has discussed in his filibuster reform ideas with top Democratic leaders.
Rolling Stone recently reported that Biden recently confided in Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, telling them he was going to start making some phone calls to lobby centrist Democrats and Republicans on filibuster reform.
Biden had previously stated his opposition to removing the filibuster, a position that some Democrats were unhappy with.
But now, White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre seems to be admitting Joe’s new stance on the topic. When asked about the President’s flip, she didn’t deny it, instead saying the White House will “keep those personal conversations with congressional leadership private.”
More government secrets, yay!
