As the 2020 race for the White House continues to take shape, an announcement about former First Lady Michelle Obama has stunned the DC power brokers.
A new poll shows Michelle Obama leading the current crop of declared or potential candidates and she isn’t even running, exposing a major weakness in the Democratic field.
Digging into the details, a full one-fourth of primary voters signaled their support for Obama winning the Democratic Party’s nomination. Former Vice President Joe Biden is statistically tied with her.
The other big names in the poll are far behind, with Sen. Kamala Harris (12%), Sen. Bernie Sanders (11%), Beto O’Rourke (6%), Michael Bloomberg (5%), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (5%) all sharing a small piece of the pie.
The Democrats have to be in full meltdown mode seeing these results. Michelle Obama, who seems to be enjoying life away from the White House at the moment, is defeating the party’s rising stars.
With a strong economy and record-low unemployment, the Democratic Party is already at a disadvantage against President Trump. The absence of a real contender spells doom for them at the ballot box.
