A shocking announcement was just made about Attorney General William Barr. Please pray for him and his family during this difficult time.
Rep. Jerry Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, declared earlier this week that the vote to hold Attorney General Barr in contempt of Congress was “still scheduled” to take place.
And now Nadler’s committee has done it. By a vote of 24-16, one of the most powerful panels in Congress has voted to hold Barr in contempt after negotiations with the Justice Department on the Mueller report didn’t go the Democrats’ way.
In response to the vote, the Justice Department said, “It is deeply disappointing that elected representatives of the American people have chosen to engage in such inappropriate political theatrics.”
Unsurprisingly, Nadler attempted to justify this radical move by attempting to sound bi-partisan. “Our fight is about defending the rights of Congress to hold the president — any president — accountable,” he said.
Where was Nadler when former President Barack Obama chose to run roughshod over the Constitution on a regular basis? He was sitting on his hands and cheering it.
