A mass shooting very early Sunday morning at a house party left three people dead and four wounded, UPI reported. A man, Bishop Henderson, 19, was arrested later on Sunday and charged with aggravated battery in connection with the shooting.
Police were called to the home in Hobbs 15 miles from Roswell just before 1 a.m. Sunday after reports of a loud party and shots fired. Henderson is being held without bail until his arraignment.
Khalil Carter, 18; Kristal Avena, 24; and Lamar Lee-Kane, Jr., 22, were pronounced dead at the scene. Lee-Kane played on the Mustangs basketball team at the University of Southwestern.
Some of those wounded have been released from the hospital, while others were transferred to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas for further treatment.
No motive or reason was given for the shooting.
