A co-host for the liberal daytime talk show ‘The View’ could be leaving. All signs point to her saying goodbye forever, and the controversy surrounding her potential exit is stunning.
Close confidantes of Meaghan McCain have revealed that as the only Republican on the panel, she feels like “a caged animal.” Another friend said, “It’s getting to the point where it’s not worth the emotional toll every week.”
Apparently, the negative publicity and drama have become too much for McCain to bear. And alleged leaks from backstage have painted her as “manic” and a “petulant child,” behaviors many already suspected.
But the show’s senior executive producer, Hilary Estey McLoughlin, tried to put a positive spin on the negative press. “I think she does want to be there. I think she wants to be on the show,” said McLoughlin.
“She realizes it’s a very good platform for her and we love having her there. I feel like she will come back,” she continued, noting beforehand that they “don’t want people to attack Meghan” and are “happy” she’s there.
Time will tell what McCain decides to do about the situation, however, it appears likely that she’s on her way out — especially if the bad press doesn’t end. Perhaps ‘The View’ can replace her with a pro-Trump Republican.
