The U.S. Senate just gave President Trump a huge win. Democrats are furious about it, but it’s a major victory for America.
By a vote of 52-41, the Senate confirmed Trump nominee Michael Park for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, a notoriously liberal stronghold — and he’s on the verge of flipping it completely.
Park’s confirmation marks the second Trump pick to be elevated to the Second Circuit this month, with Joseph Bianco being confirmed just a few days ago. Trump is now only two appointments away from wrestling control from Democrats’ hands.
The bad news for Democrats is that it’s likely going to happen. There are two other judges expected to retire this summer, and Trump replacing them would shift the balance of power on the 13-member court.
During his confirmation hearings, Park drew partisan fire from Democrats for his legal work, including defending Kansas’ decision to defund Planned Parenthood in the state and project taxpayer dollars.
Additionally, Park filed an amicus brief supporting the Trump administration’s move to add a citizenship question on the 2020 census form. Trump is winning and Democrats can’t do anything to stop it.
