The Washington Times reported:
The Senate confirmed Kenneth K. Lee to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday, giving President Trump reinforcements against the most consistently liberal circuit in the country.
With a vote of 52-45, the Senate helped Trump bring the balance of appeals court judges to 10 Republicans and 16 Democrats, and three more vacancies to tip that balance even further.
This is a big victory for Trump.
Liberal appeals courts have overturned conservative judicial rulings and have effectively changed laws regarding issues like gay marriage, school choice, and abortion.
Republicans have long despaired over these rulings and blamed them for societal moves to the left, the incremental moving of the Overton Window that seems to make Democrat policies more acceptable over time.
Conservative judicial appointments were a major part of Trump’s campaign and platform, and he continues to deliver on them with consistently conservative picks that will have a lasting impact on the country’s laws.
