The Secret Service rushed to the President’s defense Wednesday — this time against a domestic threat: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lies.
Sen. Pelosi claims her reason for uninviting President Trump from delivering his State of the Union Address is security concerns. She has spread the notion that the government shutdown impedes security preparedness. But now the Secret Service has come forward saying her claim is patently false.
“We’ve been planning for this for months, as we always do. It didn’t start up 29 days ago,” an official said. “It’s a no-fail mission.”
As usual, Sen. Pelosi gets her facts exactly backward. It remains to be seen whether President Trump will choose a different venue from which to deliver his address.
