Sean Hannity announced the unsettling results of a new poll showing that nearly half of millennials and members of generation Z would “prefer living in a socialist country.”
While the trend has long been for young Americans to lean left and then move to the right as the responsibilities of working, paying taxes and raising a family hit them with a reality check, the new Axios poll indicates a deeper problem.
“Generation Z has a more positive view of the word ‘socialism’ than previous generations, and — along with millennials — are more likely to embrace socialistic policies and principles than past generations,” the report said.
For example, a full 73.2 percent agreed “the government should provide universal healthcare,” and 67 percent believe the government “should provide tuition-free college.”
The poll reinforces concerns that U.S. high schools and universities have become propaganda machines for extreme leftist ideologies, and that little actual education is taking place.
Nevertheless, polls are often an unreliable gauge of public opinion and can produce exaggerated results depending on factors such as how a question is asked or what questions are not asked at all.
