A stunning resignation notice just dropped and it’s spreading like wildfire nationwide. The mainstream media is now in an uproar, and President Trump has responded.
Despite calls from Democrats for Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to resign, Trump is standing by him. Democrats have demanded that Ross step down after rumors that he threatened to fire officials over the hurricane map controversy.
To recap, Trump revealed a map this week of Hurricane Dorian’s trajectory. A marker was used to circle Alabama to indicate that the storm — if it remained on its current path — could hit Alabama. Liberals had an absolute fit.
Democrats are saying that Ross threatened to fire officials at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) after some of them contradicted Trump’s map, however, the Commerce Department says otherwise.
“The New York Times story is false. Secretary Ross did not threaten to fire any NOAA staff over forecasting and public statements about Hurricane Dorian,” said a spokesperson for the Commerce Department.
The two Democrats calling for Ross to resign are Reps. Don Beyer of Virginia and Paul Tonko of New York. Instead of confirming whether the rumors were true, they ran with a New York Times story as fact. Now they look like fools.
