George Soros has asked Fox News to ban a guest who said during an interview that the billionaire “controls” a large number of career foreign officials in the state department.
The statement was made by former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova on “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on the Fox Business Network. A letter was then sent to Fox News by president of the Open Society Foundations Patrick Gaspard that diGenova not be allowed back on the network.
“This is beyond rhetorical ugliness, beyond fiction, beyond ludicrous,” Gaspard wrote to Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. “It’s patently untrue; it is not even possible. This is McCarthyite.”
“I request an on-air retraction, and request that you bar Mr. diGenova as a guest on your network,” Mr. Gaspard continued. “I believe you owe an apology to the State Department and FBI as well.”
The network has not responded to the letter. DiGenovo has been quoted frequently by President Donald Trump in recent months.
