Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has had better days. She can’t keep her own party together, and she just suffered yet another major defeat. Her public temper tantrum says it all.
With Robert Mueller’s ending without a Trump indictment or evidence of Russian collusion, Pelosi and the Democrats have switched to demanding Mueller’s full report. But Attorney General William Barr has crushed their dreams.
Barr intends to make a redacted version of the report available to the public soon, ensuring that truly sensitive information is protected. Unsurprisingly, however, Pelosi wants a version without any kind of discretion whatsoever.
Pelosi whined, “Let me just say, I’m very, very dismayed and disappointed that the chief law enforcement officer of our country is going off the rails yesterday and today.”
“He is attorney general of the United States of America, not the attorney general of Donald Trump,” she ranted. Clearly, Pelosi thinks she’ll be able to make political hay out of this situation, but she’s sorely mistaken.
Americans have moved on from the Trump-Russia ‘collusion’ story, which was a sham from the beginning. But Pelosi is proving, once again, that all she cares about is politics. That she would push for an unredacted report to be made public shows that even national security takes a backseat to her agenda.
