Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — the perpetually wrong socialist agitator — just threw a hissy fit. She wants U.S. taxpayers to front the cash for something ridiculous, and it’s all for her.
Ocasio-Cortez, who earns $174,000 per year as a member of Congress, wants her colleagues to forgive everyone’s student loan debt — including her own. But she made it all about herself at a recent hearing.
“I literally made a student loan payment while I was sitting here at this chair, and I looked at my balance, and it was $20,237.16. I just made a payment that took me down to $19,000 so I feel really accomplished right now,” she said.
Ocasio-Cortez delivered this stunning comment during a House Financial Services Committee hearing. Think about it: She sat there whining even though she was able to knock off over $1,000 with a single payment.
How many hard-working Americans can do the same? She’ll have her loans paid off in no time while recent college graduates, millennials, and those much older can only make minimum payments.
But taxpayers shouldn’t have to bail out AOC or anyone else. Debt is a personal responsibility, and it isn’t the role of the federal government to give handouts. Let Americans keep more of their hard-earned money instead by cutting taxes.
