Ocasio-Cortez Given Notice… Replacement Confirmed

Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is only in her first term, but the self-avowed socialist has already been given notice. A replacement was just confirmed.

Candidates are now lining up to run against Ocasio-Cortez, including medical journalist Ruth Papazian, former NYPD police officer John Cummings, and radio producer Rich Valdez. And they will have help.

Bronx Republican chairman Mike Rendino said he’s been in talks with a multimillionaire who is “worth over $200 million, plus [has] connections to raise money in Manhattan.”

Rendino could not reveal the mega-donor’s name at this time, but it’s clear that “there’s definitely national energy and money on this race,” he said.

Papazian is the only officially confirmed candidate at this point, with Cummings and Valdez exploring a run. Regardless of who emerges as the Republican nominee, however, will have plenty of support.

On Ocasio-Cortez, Papazian said, “She completely ignores the people in this district.” She then called out her plans for higher taxes and the Green New Deal, which will result in making the middle class “impoverished.”
