Scott Pruit, Trump’s EPA head, is cleaning up that agency — and it’s long overdue.
We’re learning this week that EPA officials during Obama’s tenure were engaged in an illegal propaganda campaign. Judicial Watch just released documents that demonstrate that the EPA knowingly broke the law by using a social media distribution program called ‘Thunderclap’ to persuade the American public into adopting the administration’s stances on environmental issues.
Federal law prohibits agencies from publicizing or lobbying for their policy efforts for the purposes of shaping public opinion. But they broke that law with no repercussions. This is wrong. If the government won’t follow the law, who will? (Read More…)
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov warned the United States and its allies that escalation on the Korean peninsula could bring dire consequences.
American and South Korean military forces have been engaged in various military exercises in October and November that have “upset” the North Koreans. China proposed, and Russia supported, a ‘freeze’ effort where neither side would do anything that could be considered hostile, and the North Koreans would stop pursuing nuclear weapons.
The Trump administration saw that ruse for what it was and declined, holding the military exercises in South Korea rather than backing off. Russia, and more importantly China (North Korea’s real boss) know better than to provoke President Trump. (Read More…)
On a hopeful note, major figures in the Islamic world are making efforts to eradicate terrorism. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia hosted representatives from over 40 Muslim-majority countries this past weekend to create a framework for defeating terrorism.
Middle Eastern politics are incredibly complex and often confusing. It’s difficult to know if this effort will turn into anything tangible or effective. But at least it’s a step in the right direction. (Read More…)
Leaks, complaints, and a host of criticisms have led Freedom Watch, a conservative watchdog organization, to file suit to remove Robert Mueller from his position as Special Counsel investigating Russian collusion. So far, the results of the investigation have been mixed at best. Paul Manafort, for instance, was indicted for actions he took back in 2010 — which were almost entirely unrelated to the election.
On top of the mixed results, the investigation has had a variety of leaks, and Mueller’s impartiality has been called into question. Larry Klayman, Freedom Watch founder and attorney, filed suit against Mueller, calling him “just another pol who is representing his establishment benefactors in both political parties who want to see the presidency of Donald Trump destroyed.”
Klayman sure knows how to lay it all on the table. And he’s right. Mueller has no business being in charge of the investigation. He needs to step down. (Read More…)
It’s been a difficult few months for Bill O’Reilly, but that hasn’t stopped him from dishing out a beatdown to the truly deserving. O’Reilly just threw a jab at Nancy Pelosi on Facebook by observing that she’s “in the top five of intellectually dishonest politicians” he’s ever seen.
There’s no doubt Pelosi had this coming. She, like most of the politicians in her party, pretends she’s a champion of women’s rights. That apparently doesn’t prevent her from defending sexual predators like Bill Clinton, Sen. Al Franken, and Rep. Jon Conyers. Shameful. (Read More…)
Do liberals ever take a breath? First Lady Melania Trump shared some pictures on social media, showing observers what the White House Christmas decorations look like. Pretty uneventful, right?
Wrong. Apparently, her coat upset random liberals on Twitter. Critics didn’t like that the coat was draped on her shoulders, or that the coat was made out of ‘cashmere.’
Who knows what the coat was made of, but who cares? How sad do you have to be to get upset at the First Lady for wearing a coat in a picture? Come on, liberals do it with us now … inhale… exhale. (Read More…)
