Ron DeSantis warned schools that there were going to be consequences if they tried to implement mask mandates.
Of course, anybody who WANTS to wear a mask is more than welcome to, but it’s not constitutional to force staff and children to restrict their breathing all day. Miami-Dade becomes the last school in Florida to drop their mask mandate.

Before the beginning of the school year, DeSantis told schools that they were prohibited from requiring masks to be worn by their students. Some of them tried to do it anyway.
DeSantis warned them he was willing to play hardball, and he did. It wasn’t until the Florida Department of Education “voted to withhold funding from Miami-Dade after they imposed strict mask mandates despite a state order prohibiting them.”
