In one recent tweet, Tlaib is scene posing with Zahra Billoo, San Francisco’s regional executive director of the controversial Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Billoo praises Tlaib as a hero, to which Tlaib replies, “So good to see you sis! I will always speak truth to power because I got you to protect.”
Tlaib was also caught posing with CAIR’s Florida executive director, Hassan Shibly.
Shibly is controversial for her anti-Israel and pro-Hezbollah views, and for her characterization of Hamas’ terror tunnels as “being used in the defense of Palestine.”
Steven Emerson, executive director of The Investigative Project on Terrorism, says, “Tlaib’s comments thus far have not risen to the level of explicit antisemitism. But her intimate relationship to figures who do express antisemitic sentiments deserves scrutiny.”
