Newly released 302s of DOJ official Bruce Ohr show stronger evidence that there could have been bias against President Donald Trump during the investigation into whether his campaign colluded with Russia in 2016 before the election.
The documents show that Ohr served as a go-between for the FBI and Christopher Steele during the investigation into President Donald Trump, even after the FBI severed ties with Ohr for leaking information to the press.
The 302s also reveal that Ohr’s wife Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS, the firm Hillary Clinton hired to find dirt on Trump, and that Bruce Ohr gave his wife’s research to the FBI voluntarily. Republicans have long suggested that Nellie Ohr’s job presented a conflict of interest and likely bias on the part of the FBI and DOJ against Trump.
“FBI terminated their formal relationship with Steele because he was leaking. But DOJ official Bruce Ohr continued to meet with Steele and reported to the FBI about those meetings,” top Republican on the House Oversight and Reform Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tweeted Friday. “Why did top FBI officials try to hide their relationship with Steele?”
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on the Sean Hannity show, “This is the tip of the iceberg. I know personally there’s a lot more out there, and the word that keeps coming up is ‘bias.'”
