MSNBC host Joe Scarborough apologized Friday for the second Democrat Presidential debate, which he called a “disaster.” Scarborough didn’t host the debate himself, but it aired on his network, the Hill reported.
“With apologies to our friends and watching, last night was a disaster for the Democratic Party,” Scarborough said Friday on “Morning Joe.” “My only hope is people were not watching and I will tell you why.”
His main criticism of the debate was that the candidates attacked each other instead of focusing their attacks on President Donald Trump. He even criticized frontrunner Joe Biden for not focusing on issues in his answers.
“It was one of those moments where you’re going, ‘My God, is he going to complete his sentence?’” Scarborough asked.
He also said Bernie Sanders was unprepared and used the same tactics that lost him the Democrat primary to Hillary Clinton in 2016. Democrats will not be able to beat Trump with ultra-left policies like the ones they trumpeted in the debate, Scarborough insisted.
