Melania Trump introduced President Donald Trump to resounding cheers from the capacity crowd of 20,000 people at his re-election campaign kick-off Tuesday night in Florida. The President and First Lady got a standing ovation as they walked onstage at the Amway Center in Orlando.
The First Lady dazzled the crowd in a yellow jumpsuit as she proudly introduced her husband. She said she was proud to have served as First Lady and proud of all that the President and her entire family had accomplished in the first two years.
“He truly loves this country and will continue to work on your behalf as long as he can — all of us will,” Melania Trump said before introducing her husband. The crowd cheered wildly as she kissed President Trump on each cheek.
The First Lady has preferred to stay out of the spotlight and has been largely ignored by the media, compared to the coverage of former First Lady Michelle Obama while her husband was in office. It was clear, however, that the crowd loved Melania Trump at the Orlando rally.
President Trump had supporters lining up for days to get into the rally, with many who didn’t make it remaining outside during the festivities. In contrast, Democrat candidates are holding much smaller campaign events with only a few hundred in attendance.
