Another mass killing just occurred, this time in southern California. Four more people are dead and the community is searching for answers.
According to reports, however, the 33-year-old suspect did not commit these crimes with a gun — he used a knife instead. He was also found with a firearm on his person, but there’s no indication yet that he ever fired it.
Tragically, it appears that the gun was the property of a security guard that the suspect fatally stabbed as he robbed and murdered in the cities of Garden Grove and Santa Ana, which are only about seven miles apart.
The suspect was thankfully arrested and taken off the streets. But now begins the process of trying to piece together the events that took place over the course of two hours.
“It’s pure evil when this happens, and we don’t see it happen every day. It’s one of those things you see one time in a career. It’s commonplace when you see what’s happening in society today,” said Lt. Carl Whitley with the Garden Grove PD.
“I am very proud of our officers and what they did, they were able to find the suspect after the last time and we took him into custody quickly,” added Lt. Whitley in his statement.
