New House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took a shot at President Donald Trump during a recent interview with NBC that came directly out of the Democratic Party’s old identity politics playbook, despite those formerly tried and true plays no longer working as effectively as they once did.
Pelosi suggested that Trump had no idea how to work alongside women with strength in positions of power, obviously in reference to herself, with the insinuation being that she would easily be able to maintain an upper hand against him.
But the president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, who is serving as an adviser to the Trump 2020 campaign, dismissed Pelosi’s remarks as “ridiculous” and representative of “true identity politics.”
“I think that Nancy Pelosi knows that Donald Trump works very well with women,” said Lara Trump. “He has never cared about your gender or about your color. Donald Trump expects results and he sees success and failures.”
