George Conway, the husband of White House counsel KellyAnne Conway, said Friday that the whistleblower accusations against Trump were “over the top” and that he should be immediately impeached if they are true.
An anonymous whistleblower alleged that Trump “made a promise” to Ukraine during a phone call and pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate allegations that Joe Biden wanted a prosecutor fired who was investigating his son.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing, and a new report said that the whistleblower had no direct knowledge of the incident they reported.
Trump’s supporters are skeptical about the new allegations, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said they could become part of an ongoing impeachment investigation.
Democrats are calling for Trump to testify before Congress about the call.
