Senator Kamala Harris of California has only served in the Senate since 2017, but, like Obama was in 2008, she’s in a rush to become president of the United States. She may want to think twice after her attack on Trump just backfired.
“The average tax refund is down about $170 compared to last year. Let’s call the President’s tax cut what it is: a middle-class tax hike to line the pockets of already wealthy corporations and the 1%,” Harris tweeted, proving she doesn’t understand how taxes work.
It didn’t take long before someone significantly younger and apparently more educated than Harris responded. “Do you… not understand that people’s refunds are less under Trump’s plan… because they paid less taxes to start with?” tweeted Cabot Phillips.
Phillips is currently the Media Director for Campus Reform, a conservative organization that supports First Amendment rights on college campuses and exposes higher education’s left-wing bias. Maybe he should take Harris’s place in the U.S. Senate.
Joining Harris in peddling liberal ignorance was Muslim Brotherhood apologist Linda Sarsour, MSNBC’s Joy Reid, and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA). Add this to the Democratic Party’s vapid talking points on the issue, and you have another coordinated effort to undermine Trump.
What career politicians and the drive-by media don’t seem to understand is that Trump’s tax plan is popular. Middle-class Americans are paying far less in taxes than they were under Obama, which as driven up consumer confidence and helped jumpstart our economy.
