The White House just issued a shock announcement that is sure to enrage House Democrats. This decision strikes a major blow to outspoken Trump enemy Adam Schiff’s personal crusade against Trump.
White House counsel Pat Cipollone just announce that the Democrat request for access to documents related to President Trump’s communications with Russian President Vladimir Putin has been rejected.
Democrat Congressman Adam Schiff lead the initiative along with Democratic Representatives Elijah Cummings and Eliot Engel.
Cipollone announced that the reason for rejecting the request is that “the President must be free to engage in discussions with foreign leaders without fear that those communications will be disclosed and used as fodder for partisan political purposes.”
Adam Schiff is one of the loudest critics of President Trump. The Senate Intelligence Committee recently released a report that cleared President Trump of accusations of collusion with Russia, but Schiff vowed to continue his own investigation into “every aspect” of Trump’s life.
Cipollone struck the final blow to Schiff’s plan by pointing out that “the law does not require the Executive Branch to provide Congress with documents relating to confidential diplomatic communications between the President and foreign leaders.”
