The ever-elusive “whistleblower” just stunned Congress. Democrats have likely sealed the fate of their impeachment witch-hunt, and not a moment too soon.
After Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) moved to subpoena “the individual commonly referred to as the ‘whistleblower,'” House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) effectively killed the motion.
Without testimony from Trump’s accuser, there’s no way Republicans will consider taking the process seriously. It has been a sham from the very beginning and this is just further proof.
During the hearing, Nadler asked, “Do I hear a motion to table?” A fellow Democrat responded, “I move to table the motion,” and the vote was taken — with Democrats winning 24-17.
Unfortunately, this is what Americans can expect from the House majority. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her puppets will ram through impeachment without testimony from the whistleblower.
But their entire effort will be destroyed once it reaches the Senate. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and others have made it clear that impeachment is dead on arrival.
