President Donald Trump called armed security and churchgoers “brave” in a tweet for acting to stop a church shooting in Texas during a Sunday worship service.
“Our prayers are with the families of the victims and the congregation of yesterday’s church attack,” Trump wrote. “It was over in 6 seconds thanks to the brave parishioners who acted to protect 242 fellow worshippers. Lives were saved by these heroes, and Texas laws allowing them to carry arms!”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed legislation after a November 2017 church shooting allowing concealed carry in churches for security and defense purposes.
