Energy Secretary Rick Perry is rumored to be planning to resign from his position in the Trump administration.
Sources close to Perry just leaked the news that he is finalizing plans for his final exit. No specific date for his exit was disclosed.
Bloomberg reported that Perry is currently ” finalizing the terms and timing of his departure” and cited two individuals familiar with his plans.
The former Governor of Texas has been with the Trump administration since 2017.
The Department of Energy issued a press release addressing the rumors. DOE Press Secretary Shaylyn Hines tweeted that “There is no truth Secretary Perry is departing the Administration any time soon. “
Perry himself has declined to confirm or deny the rumors, but he told Bloomberg last month that “I’m happy where I am and the president is happy where I am.
