Former football player Tim Tebow appeared at a pro-life event in Kansas and was cheered on after delivering his remarks.
During the event, Tebow said, “It really does mean a lot more than winning the Super Bowl. One day, when you look back and people are talking about you and they say, ‘Oh my gosh, what are you going to be known for?’ Are you going to say Super Bowl, or we saved a lot of babies? It’s a rescue mission. You know why we call it a rescue mission? Because when we say that, it puts a timeline on it.”
Tebow may have made his name playing football, but he made it clear what means more to him.
Abortion is particularly relevant to Tebow, as he himself was nearly aborted after doctors advised his mother to abort him.
Tebow went on to say, “You’re fighting for life. You’re fighting for people that can’t fight for themselves.”
Tebow’s choice to use his platform to fight for the most vulnerable is admirable. Americans need to be reminded that while sports may be something we love, it’s only second place to the real stuff of life.
