Leftist activiest Michael Moore blasted the Democrat National Committee for changing its debate rules midstream, putting aside the individual donor threshhold and allowing Michael Bloomberg to qualify while having left several candidate of color who couldn’t previously meet that threshold out of the debate.
“I got to tell you what’s so disgusting about this,” Moore shouted. “I watched the debate here in Iowa two weeks ago. The all-white debate. And the fact that the Democratic DNC will not allow Cory Booker on that stage, will not allow Julian Castro on that stage, but they’re going to allow Mike Bloomberg on that stage because he’s got a billion f—ing dollars!”
Booker and Castro have now dropped out of the race. Some of the remaining candidates also said they were unhappy with the rules change.
“The DNC didn’t change the rules to ensure good, diverse candidates could remain on the debate stage,” tweeted Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. “They shouldn’t change the rules to let a billionaire on.”
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who hasn’t appeared in the last two Democratic debates, tweeted, “Billionaire Bloomberg just bought the DNC.”
