The impeachment trial for President Trump was just rocked. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has pulled another trick out of his anti-Trump hat — this couldn’t be a dirtier move.
Schiff, in his capacity as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, sent “new evidence to Nadler that will be included as part of the official record handed to the Senate for the impeachment trial.”
Schiff transmitted this “evidence” to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) at the eleventh hour, just before the articles of impeachment were sent to the Senate for the trial portion of the process.
The documents include information reportedly provided by Les Parnas — a former associate of Rudy Guiliani’s who was recently indicted. Many have wondered whether this is just political payback.
Within the documents, there is a note reportedly written by Parnas that reads, “Get Zalensky to announce that the Biden case will be investigated.” It is scribbled on a note from the Ritz-Carlton in Vienna.
Whether Senate Republicans will consider Schiff’s last-minute submission isn’t yet known, but one thing is for sure: Schiff and his anti-Trump hacks lost and that’s why they are still desperately digging for dirt.
