Serial killer Richard Cottingham, known as the “Torso Ripper” in the 1970s, has confessed to killing three more girls in the late 1960s.
Cottingham said he killed 13-year-old Jackie Harp, 18-year-old Irene Blase and 15-year-old Denise Falasca between 1968 and 1969, a New Jersey prosecutor said.
Previously, Cottingham was convicted of killing six girls in New Jersey and New York between 1967 and 1980. He has been in jail since the 1980s and claims to have killed 85 to 100 females in all.
He is serving a sentence of more than 200 years for the murders.
Prosecutors say Cottingham will not be charged for the additional three murders, but the cases have been marked cleared rather than unsolved.
