Climate activist Greta Thunberg’s father just came forward and admitted the truth. The news is capturing the attention of millions worldwide — and now everyone is talking about it.
“We thought it was a bad idea, just the idea of your own daughter sort of putting herself at the very front line of such a huge question like climate change,” said Svante Thunberg on BBC Radio.
“You wouldn’t want that as a parent,” he continued. However, he also noted how Greta, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, “fell ill” and that her choice to take on this effort “saved” her.
In 2016, Greta was reportedly suffering from depression and also had trouble attending school — her appetite was even affected. But she is now “very happy from doing this,” said Mr. Thunberg.
Putting herself out there at such a young age, with all the pressure that comes with it, has been a subject of concern ever since she burst onto the political scene — seemingly out of nowhere.
Recently, she was even named Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year” for her activism. Many have worried that she is simply being used by the left for their own radical agenda.
