A scandal involving Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) just exploded. His presidential campaign is about to go down in the flames — this is a stunning revelation.
Sanders reportedly told Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in December of 2018 that “he did not believe a woman could win” the White House by defeating President Trump in 2020.
According to CNN, “two people Warren spoke with directly soon after the encounter, and two people familiar with the meeting,” have confirmed Sanders’ comment to Warren and their meeting.
The same report also noted that the two senators agreed to remain cordial to one another if they ended up facing each other — something that has no come to fruition as the Democrat field whittles down.
In response to the report, Sanders said, “It is ludicrous to believe that at the same meeting where Elizabeth Warren told me she was going to run for president, I would tell her that a woman couldn’t win.”
Bemoaning the political timing, he continued by alleging that “staff who weren’t in the room are lying about what happened.” He also said that he believes a woman can win this year.
