B-list actor and race-baiter Jussie Smollett was shockingly cleared of charges in Chicago of setting up his own assault and trying to blame Trump supporters. However, he’s been hit with a new case he never saw coming.
The city of Chicago’s Department of Law is suing Smollett after refusing to pay for the police overtime spent investigating his case, which totals $130,000. “The Law Department will file the suit in the near future,” said spokesperson Bill McCaffrey.
“As part of this legal action, the Law Department will pursue the full measure of damages allowed under the ordinance,” McCaffrey continued, proving that city police won’t back down from using every possible tool to hold Smollett accountable.
The Department of Law’s March 28 letter is a scorching indictment of Smollett’s behavior. “[Y]ou made a police report in which you falsely claimed that two men had attacked you while yelling racial and homophobic slurs,” read the letter.
“The Chicago Police Department conducted an extensive investigation into this report … expending resources that could have been used for other investigations,” the letter continued. Then it reemphasized the police’s clear findings in the case.
“Ultimately,” said the letter, “the Chicago police investigation revealed that you knowingly filed a false police report and had in fact orchestrated your own attack.” Best of luck to the Chicago police. Smollett and the corrupt prosecutors in this case should be ashamed.
