A judge just told President Trump “yes,” and Democrats are throwing a hissy fit. They are working overtime to reverse Trump’s progress on behalf of the American people.
House Democrats, led by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, have petitioned the D.C. Court of Appeals to reverse Judge Trevor McFadden’s ruling that allowed Trump’s funding plan for the border wall to move forward.
Since Trump decided to use his executive authority to declare an emergency over our border crisis, Democrats have been trying to stop his effort — but Judge McFadden’s decision put a kink into their plan.
“The House respectfully disagrees with the Court’s standing decision,” said Democrats in a court filing. They went on to encourage the court to “enter final judgment so that the House may promptly appeal that order.”
In short, Democrats want the D.C. Court of Appeals to end this stage of the trial in order to take another shot at McFadden’s ruling, which balked at their claim that Trump abused his presidential powers.
“While the Constitution bestows upon members of the House many powers, it does not grant them standing to hale the executive branch into court claiming a dilution of Congress’s legislative authority,” McFadden wrote.
