John Kelly, President Trump’s Chief of Staff, is departing at years end.
His replacement was expected to be Mike Pence’s chief of staff, Nick Ayers. But now it has been announced that Ayers has declined the job and will be leaving the Trump administration at years end.
Ayers, who has young triplets, was apparently unable to commit to working as chief of staff through the 2020 election.
With Ayers out, Trump is reportedly considering several replacements, including Rep. Mark Meadows and OMB director Mick Mulvaney.
