19 Senate Republicans aided in the passage of the so-called “bipartisan” infrastructure bill.
Among them are: Dan Sullivan, Shelley Moore Capito, Mike Capro, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Deb Fischer, Lindsey Graham, Rob Portman, Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, Jim Risch, Chuck Grassley, Bill Cassidy, Kevin Cramer, Roger Wicker, Mitch McConnell, John Hoeven, Susan Collins, and Mitt Romney.
Hidden in the bill are outlets for entire industries to bypass our “Buy American” rules which incentivize companies for using American labor.
Because of the bill, the heads of federal agencies are now going to be able to grant waivers to businesses if they feel the “Buy American” rules are “inconsistent with the public interest.”
Translation: Companies only have to buy off one single politician with a few donations to outsource entire industries.
But I’m sure that won’t happen, right? I mean, politicians NEVER take money from corporations to screw over the American public… Yeah, let’s trust them…
